I've had a look at moneybarn and red potato. They're interest rates are astronomical, which results in paying double the value of the vehicle over 5 years. Hiring / renting in the short term does seem to be the best bet. Moneybarn doesn't get great reviews on Google either to be honest.

Hello all Well, after 7 long years, i have only one payment left remaining on my IVA!! Its been a long arduous journey, but there is now a light at the end of the tunnel. Unfortunately, this victory has been rather soured by the fact that my company car is being taken off me in 5 weeks. (job needs c...

Thanks for the reply Michael, much appreciated. I do think to make these threats at this stage of the IVA with only 4 payments remaining is very unprofessional and has caused me a great deal of stress. I feel that PayPlans service has deteriorated significantly over the past couple of years. I'm fed...

Many thanks for your replies. They said that is a requirement of my IVA that I provide my P60. It doesn't actually state that in the chairman's report. It just states that it's a method of determining income. They must have had sufficient information from me to sign off the annual review which I hav...

Phone call (finally!!) from Payplan. They say that because the tax credits payments are made to myself and my partner (jointly) there is a joint several liability. HMRC have calculated the total they will receive from the IVA (approx £1200, taken that from the total overpayment of £5400, and request...

Hi Kallis
These conversations are between myself and my case officer who has changed recently. Before the change I had no problems.

An update of the tax credits affair: I have contacted Payplan on various occasions now since the last post and their utter ignorance is dispicable and customer service appalling. I would advise anybody contemplating using Payplan not to. Emails sent and replies/actions below since the last post: To ...

Spoke to Payplan today regarding this and they are about as much use as a chocolate teapot. They seem to be very reluctant to speak to HMRC for some reason and keep insisting I call them. Payplan don't seem very knowledgeable in my opinion. In the end I had to virtually 'order' them to phone. They w...

Well I've been in touch with Payplan regarding this, they said I should contact HMRC. I have spoken to HMRC twice regarding this now, it has been sent to Head Office and they say there has been 'no mistake', and something about '14% remittance' and I will not receive any backdated credits or any cre...

Many thanks for the advice everyone!

I shall call my IP in the morning. I guess I should be able to get the payments back dated to the start of the IVA?

Hi Everyone Quick question - My partner and myself were over payed a large amount of tax credits a few years ago (although I still dispute the amount or whether I was wholly responsible) and these are included in my IVA - approx £5000. My IVA has been running for 18 months now but I have not receive...

What I don't understand though Melanie is that the proposal must have been accepted by HMRC at the creditors meeting? Surely, if it wasn't possible HMRC would have questioned it and said something at the time?

Thanks for the info. I can't remember if there were personal guarantees in place so will have to check and speak to Payplan on Monday. I do sort of remember signing something along those lines though. Surely HMRC would have said something at the creditors meeting regarding this if there was a proble...
