Hi Heather.cs
from what I have researched you do not necessarily have to lose your home - especially if it is in negative equity. I am sure one of the experts will be around soon to give you the right answers.

Clairbare - that is exactly what I am thinking! mumofthree - good luck with your meeting, when exactly is it? I am just thinking all these things as the initial allowances we were suggested to put through are more generous than the budget we have been trying to live off up until now. But then I am s...

Thanks again Melanie.
When you say to keep a record - how detailed should this be?
Are you supposed to pay for everything on card to keep things simple & can u just withdraw the cash & pay cash, would we need to keep the receipts for everything if paying cash?

Hi just wondered if anyone knows the answer. When you do the i&e on an annual basis do you have to show/prove that you did indeed spend your allowances? And are the allowances based on your actual expenses from the year before or just as standard if nothing changed? Do you need to provide the whole ...

Hi SG70 - our debt has been making me really depressed and I never thought that could be the reason for it. Ever since I made the call last Friday and decided to go ahead with an IVA I've felt so much better - just knowing that this is the end of the problems and calls, either way IVA or BR I have f...

Hi everyone having been reading posts on the forum for some time I have finally found the courage to admit to all the debt and realise there are only 2 ways out - BR or IVA. Have always been concerned with not having the IVA approved for whatever reason but think we have made a great choice in Melan...

Thanks Melanie. How exactly would you weave the rises into the IVA proposal? I really think that nobody would touch us for a re-mortgage with the amount of debt & missed payments we currently have. Have already checked with our current provider - they said they could do it but we are in arrears at t...

Hi - just wanted to ask what happens if we cannot get our mortgage rate fixed at the beginning of an IVA. Our mortgage is £286k so even a 1% change in rates could mean loads to us. I know you get your reviews etc. but what happens if say the mortgage repayment goes up by say £200/month? How can you ...

Hi, considering an IVA - just wondering - since the recent merge of HBOS & Lloyds do the debts from these two creditors class as one vote now? have got 2 Halifax credit cards, one lloyds cc, overdraft with both and loans with both... Also - what are they like when it comes to voting? Do they general...

I have just checked their website, offering 6.29% as the lowest for 2 years only...but I will give them a call shortly to see what they've got to say... What do most people do re: fixing mortgage when entering or whilst in an IVA? Surely you cannot base your budget on something that is more than lik...

I didn't even go down that line with CCCS...they weren't really that interested to be fair. So how to the creditors approach the mortgage repayment / expenses in case it is my partner only entering IVA - do they just halve them? since my partner is the main bread winner at the moment he's paying for...
