I entered into a IVA over 6 years ago with F A simms.
Originally my car loan who was with GE money wasn't entered into the IVA then FA simms decided a year into the IVA though should of been.
Now six years later santandar have taken over GE money and are refusing to remove the default on my credit report and Experian wont do anything even though I provided them with my completion cert.[:(!]
So does anybody have any advise on what to do.
Everytime I ring Santander Consumer Finance they wont talk to me they just say it's being delt with by one of their team. [:(!]

Hi Guppy

I would write to the Data protection officer at Santander. Santander have to reply to you within 28 days. The other alternative is to get a copy of your credit report. Normally the credit ref agencies ask you to contact the creditor to get information corrected but if you have done that to no job, the agency will take it up on your behalf,

You need to write to the Santander data controller and if they don't remove the default you can then escalate the complaint to the Information Commissioner who can force them to do so.

Cheers for the replies.
I have written to Santanders controller but they still have not acknowledged receipt of the letter.
I've spocken to FA Simms and they're going to try and contact them.
Experian said they won`t do anything unless santander tell them different; in other words, they were a waste of time.
I shall give them 28 days and then follow your advice and contact the information commissioner.
