I shop online, I know you pay delivery but I try and do shopping once every 3 weeks or so and get shopping delivered mid week its cheaper. At least then I control exactly how much I spend and am not tempted by things that look nice, or cakes and chocolate, don't go shopping when your hungry, its deadly on the pocket!

Saved by the child benefit! Just paid into an otherwise empty bank account!
Hooray!

I tried that Louise but ended up falling out with the devil's shop, aka Tesco! Half of the stuff they delivered had a really short time to the use by date, and then the driver refused to deliver it to our first floor flat as apparently it is 'against health and safety regulations'! We then tried Sainsburys, who could never find us as we're not on the sat nav (they obviously can't use a map) and I refused to accept one delivery as it was 2 hours late! As Asda don't deliver in this area I gave up and go myself!

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

I must be lucky, no major disators with tesco so far, but they do occasionally add some strange thngs to my shopping. 12 pints of milk and 6 boxes of salmon fish cakes once, didn't pay for them though. Also forgot all the fresh produce once, came back an hour later with double what I ordered at no extra cost, so can't complain really.

I know what you mean skippy. I shop online as working nights I dont have the time sometimes. as louise says cheaper midweek. I have had a few moans at tescos and sainsburys and this week sains sent me a £15 voucher to apologise for never having a lot of the offers.
If you want to know how much your shop is you can still sort the list online and print it off that way when you get to the shop you know how much you are going to spend and if you add a few things its not so hard to add on. also you can check the offers at each shop to see who is the cheapest.

Hope that helps all.

In my old house it was a 25 min drive to tesco's and I always had my shopping delivered. One christmas they brought my shopping I was round at the garage and my kids took it in, when I got home I found that there was enough booze to start a pub and stuff that I would never order, posh stuff, smoked salmon and all that. It must have cost a fotune but it really wasnt for me. I phoned Tesco and they had switched deliveries with someone of the same surname. They arranged a swop. They sent me 50 pounds because of my honesty. I took issue with them for delivering booze and ciggarettes to my underage kids and they sent me another 25 pounds.

All in all not bad, eh?

Now I live at the top of a hill and there is a small tesco's at the bottom, so I cant really justify the cost of delivery. My problem is not knowing what I need in advance.

Hubby is in the doghouse - he got a parking ticket on Friday, just what we don't need! I actually felt sorry for the traffic warden when I heard of all the abuse he gave him
