What happens to the older cars, do they stay the same? I have a old K reg but it is still very reliable and a good little runner so wont change it.

Old cars continue to work on engine size only. Which seems crazy because there are a lot of old polluting cars out there and emissions are checked at mot so they could have tax based on emissions.
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.

I would love to know where this Government thinks we will get the extra money to pay this from!!!!

I doubt they care Rayb. In my opinion its more a way of getting vehicles off the road than for anything else. Fuel is short .... so lets get people to stop using it

I have a 1.6 Skoda Octavia which is all of 2 1/2 years old, but as it is petrol and not diesel we will be paying a wopping £70 extra next year.

It annoys me that I am going to be penalised, when I see some real, as I call them, 'coal burners' going around making more smoke than James Bond's Aston Martin and they won't be paying anywhere near the amount I will.
