Just joined the forums after spending a few hours reading through some topics on here - So firstly i want to say a big thankyou to all the people that are keeping this forum active and the time spent putting other peoples minds at rest - a truly dedicated and worthwhile job!

Now a quick question - next month ill be completing my annual review with payplan for the start of my 3rd year! (anyone new to an iva believe me you wont notice where the time has gone)

My financial circumstances have not changed accept for a pay review which was reflected in an increase last year on my monthly payments. i have however found a new lady to irritate in my life - when i entered into the iva i moved back home - i am now looking at moving out into rented accomadation with her, waiting to see what the review brings first - she is totally aware of my iva and we have worked out that my contribution to renting somewhere will equate to roughly the same £450 a month i pay to live at home.

How easy is it to rent? obviously i will fail a credit check but her financial situation is sound - she is also willing to put up a larger deposit (3 months she has saved) will that help at all?

any info or experiences will be appreciated

cheers guys

Hi and welcome
I would think that as your partners credit is good that you would be ok.
Easy option would be to take out the tenancy just in her name but I would just be upfront with the agent.
We have had mixed success on the forum regarding renting, some seem to be accepted no probs and others have to find larger deposits[6 months]
My advice is to be totally honest about your situation and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised

Hi there

Andy's advice to take out the tenancy in her name is a good one - so there may be no need to endure the worry of a credit check.

It is great to see stories like yours on the forum demonstrating that you can still move on with your life and there is an end to financial worry. Good luck for the future to you and your partner.
