It's been a long time since I last posted on this site, and I hope everyone is well.

I'm in a single IVA (my wife isn't) and both of us have been facing redundancy. My wife has escaped - just - but I haven't and I stop work on 31st January.

By way of compensation I am being paid £14,500. I think my IVA has a balance of around £30,000 on it.

Given that I am out of work, does anyone think that an offer of (say) £10,000 would be considered by my creditors? Also should I immediately stop paying my IVA?

My IVA payments are around 33% of our monthly outgoings.

I have e-mailed my IP to see what they think and no doubt will speak further with them but would appreciate any other thoughts or experiences.

Cheers

P.S. For those of you who do know me I've managed to lose about 9 stone in weight since I last went to a FF social do. Another benefit of an IVA!!! :)
Debt problems, what debt problems? I'm not in De Thames, I'm in De Nile.

Hi, nice to see you again and well done on the weight loss!!!

Not sure what will happen as regards a full and final as normally you are allowed to keep up to 6 months worth of money while you look for another job.

You're with Mel aren't you, if I remember rightly. I am sure she will be in touch as soon as possible.
