Hi,
Over the last two days i've been receiving emails from this (iva.co.uk) site about 2 topics- 'implications of iva' and 'what is an iva'. I decided to follow the link to investigate and it took me to this forum. I decided to add to it but the website did not register my post.

My worry is whether this is a fault with the site or was it something more sinister (hackers)?

Admin - I havent knowingly subscribed to anything in order to receive these emails. Could this be a hacker or is it a known fault with the forum.

It seems to have been related to the spamming posts, now deleted. Thank you very much for the feedback, but please post here if you receive any more.

I have also recieved emails which I have opened, I havent had a fantastic connection for the last couple of days (like carry a snail). I was suprised to have like 11 emails from this site. I have now deleted them, although its a bit late now, is there any harm in opening them???

As a general policy its always best to delete any emails if you don't know the sender lily.. there's a great deal of spam about unfortunately and usually the sender wants to get hold of your email address - which will be revealed if you reply [:(]
We have had to delete the email facility whereby members can email each other because of this to ensure that nobody can get the email address of any member of the forum. Its such a shame that a few bad apples can spoil this free communication ideal [:(]

I have had no such emails so far and will delete if I do.

I was just wondering what is the point of someone doing this, is it just to obtain your email address or is it something more sinister than that.[?]

I didn't get any either Emma - I'd have been shocked if I'd got loads of emails as I don't get many!

Seriously, it does make you wonder what they're up to.
