Well it is true what they say............it doesn't just rain but it pours.

I have today had a pest controller round to my house as we have heard gnawing under the floors.[:I] He has confirmed that we have got a rat(or rats).[:(][:0] GREAT! I feel soooooo dirty and have just been round the kitchen with the detol.

He told me not to worry as we now have 8 bags of poison under the floor so they wil be dead in a few weeks - A FEW WEEKS!!![V]

I refrained from telling him it was no consolation as I wanted them gone TODAY.[:(]

We are oh so lucky...........

Thank god for this forum[:D][:D]

You have my sympathy Moneystinks. My cat keeps bring mice in. I wouldn't mind too much but half the time they are alive. I nearly freaked when I saw one run across the kitchen floor. Ended up throwing nearly everything out in a panic.

Know how you feel about the rats. We have a pond on the patio and have field mice living under there. Not a problem with that as they are quite cute and don't come in the house.

Every so often we get visited by rats and have to get the pest control out. Horrible things! The rats that is - not the pest control people!

Know how you feel - we don't have them under the floors (i hope) but we are pretty sure that they live under our shed. The first time we saw them was after we had a BBQ late last year. I did try to kill them but have discovered that trying to whack them over the head with a baseball bat whilst holding a glass of wine and sat on the garden table isn't the most effective!

Hope you get it sorted soon!

That does conjure up some images!

The council should come out and sort it for you, otherwise, we get rat poison from Screwfix Direct and it seem to do the trick.

Horrible things....I wouldn't mind but I kept waking up convinced that I could hear them.

I rang the council as they ome out fo FREE (yipee) it's about the only thing we do get for nothing - and we woould rather not have to use this service.

Sorry to say it but I'm glad I'm not on my own!!

ohhh rats. we took the kids to go around some underground passages under Exeter in the easter break (which was not a great idea coz im claustrophobic) what we were not told until the end of the tour was "please wash your hands carefully as there are rats in this tunnel"!! My face was a picture as being in a dark confined space with rats is not my idea of a holiday treat day out, however it paled into insignificance when i looked at my husband, he was a gibbering wreck with tears in his eyes. Although his main phobia is 'moths', great fun when i bring in the washing in the summer, they fly out in his face while he is folding, hours of free entertainment for me and the kids [:D] (he wouldn't even watch the film the 'moth man prophecies' as he thought i was lying when i told him it wasnt actually about a moth, well not much) lol [:p]

How cruel Rollercoaster!

Fancy taunting your husband like that! Unfortunately, it is the other way round in this house as both me and my daughter hate anything flying (apart from birds) or anything creepy. I'd kill my other half if he did that!

That is one good thing that the Council do -it's a freebie, not many of them left.

hats off to the council. my hubby use to work opposite a biscuit factory and when he was doing the night shift, he said there were rats the size of dogs running up the hill and through their factory. im sure he did a 12 hour shift but spent 7 of those standing on a table with a broom in his hand. although not the best weapon, when you consider 'splat a rat' is a funfair game with terrible odds. [:D]

I quite like pet rats, think they are quite cute. Don't like the other sort though.

I'd hold them quite happily - I've done a couple of alligators and a snake so rats would be no problem!

I am just waiting for about 2230 - that's when they start chomping our floor joists!! Nice eh.

I'm not sure I'd like seeing cats play with mice either.

By the way Barb I like your new sign on, it has taken me ages to figure out it was you though lol! hope you are well. xx
