Hi all.
Just a quick post. Re shopping.
We are a little unlucky where we live because we do not have a supermarket for 20 miles. We have a little co op, but they are so expensive.
So, because we have to travel a distance, we do monthly shopping. BUT, doing it this way means that you still have to buy from the little co op for things like bread and milk and weekly school lunchs, fruit. These things add up when you are paying inflated prices. We are just unlucky to not have good resources locally I suppose we all take it for granted when we have it already. When we moved here 4yrs ago, we said how lucky we were before moving because we had every big retailer within 2 miles of home, we are lost now. Also we can't shop on a budget because we have to shop at Tesco's or Sainsbury's. There is a morrison's 40 miles away, bit impractical though!!!
We got used to traveling to do our shopping and it was almost enjoyable. But when you are on a tight budget, it's not the same. Right now I'd love to have a Kwik save local to here. We could do online at Tesco, but by the time we are paid, our cupboards really are bare, so we need to shop then, online you have to book a slot and at this time of year it's a 10 day wait.
One good thing though, having limited food items really does push you to be more creative with food!!!
