longslog101 - it can be a large part of what I do and it's transferable across working environments.
Re. complaining it is the same process for other things - complain to the company first and if they ignore the complaint or you are unhappy with the response go to the appropriate regulator.
However companies should know that there is an expectation to report breaches and it works against them if it is found that they have not self reported at the appropriate time.
With GT/Aperture it looks like they were more interested in establishing a claim to PPI than actually taking a structured approach to who should be contacted, whether information they held was still up to date etc.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.
