With Xmas fast approaching an old scam has reared it's ugly head once again. A card is being posted by hand through doors from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting they were unable to deliver a parcel and that the recipient needs to contact them on 0906 6611911. This is a premium rate number.

DO NOT call this number as the mailed card is a scam. If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will have alread been billed for £315 for the phone call.

If you do receive a card from these people then contact the Royal Mail Fraud on 020 7239 6655.

If you read what it says though, the email is a hoax and the scam was shut down some years ago. If you are concerned and you get one of these cards then you should do the following:

If you receive a delivery card through your letterbox which you do not believe is genuine and which asks you to dial a premium rate number, you can contact PhonepayPlus on 0800 500 212 (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm) for further guidance.

The article does say not to phone Royal Mail Fraud.
