I was really chuffed when I managed to open an online saver with the post office but am less impressed as I transferred money from my co op account on the 26th of Jan and while it is appearing in my post office account(went in on the 31st),its not showing as available balance yet.

My money is clearly floating around in the ether!!!

And thats putting money in,cant wait to try and get some out!!!!

Under the matress is looking like a better prospect.

That's not good Paul!!

I've still got a full Barclays account and have opened up an e saver account with them as hubby is organising a reunion do for some of his old police pals this summer so the money they are paying gets put straight into there once the cheques have cleared and I can transfer stuff across between accounts and draw on it the same day.

Don't recommend the mattress though - we have just had some poor old dear visited by a bogus official and they stole £25k that was in the house!!!!!

Doubt you have that much though Paul!!!

If only the co op would let me have a flippin' online saver account with them. I may apply again after I come of the scottish version of the insolvency register(within the next 10 days I hope!!).

Its not like I want the money to be instant access but dont see why if its not in my current account I cant get it from my savings one!!!

I hope that you can get an account when you come off the register but, in the meantime, why not open another cashminder? They're usually ok with that.

They are usually pretty good at opening second cashminder accounts - what the difference is between that and a savings account I have no idea!!

My online savings account with Nat West works really well. Transfer from one account to another and the funds are instantly available x

That's how I do it footiemad. Maybe another Co-op account would work for you though for savings? x

Co op are taking the mick now with this money!!! I think its because I transferred it by direct debit,as its still not showing as available but an amount that I transferred last night using my debit card is there right away,so maybe the moral of the story is just to use my debit card to transfer the cash as its a hell of a lot faster!!

Once it all clears I shall try and transfer £5 back out to see how long it takes.

Same with me and Barclays - the transfer is instant.

I was refused a cash isa with the co op and an online saver with them. Thats the only negatives I have had with them.

I have tried to transfer a fiver back out of my post office saver to see how long that takes, could make or break how useful the post office account is for us,I dont want the money too accessable but equally I dont want it taking forever to be able to get it,maybe I ask too much!!!!

Once we get £500 saved it can go into something abit more long term(long being a year max).

Paul, I save with the Yorkshire Building Society e-saver account. Opened onile in minutes and they send you an ATM card to access the funds. I transfer it from my Co-Op cashminder online and it generally takes a couple of days to appear in the savings account. Might be worth a look.
