Clearly in the past very senior Northern Rock bosses made a decision to blanket refuse most IVA proposals 40p/£ or below, no matter what an individuals circumstances, forcing many people to go bankrupt, lose their home etc. Are these same bosses now suffering in this NR crisis? If so then as my old mum would say “h*ll mend them!” But I would hate to think innocent NR employees will suffer
My thanks to Melanie and her team :)

I doubt the NR bosses are suffering too much!!..they are on mega salaries, can probably still get jobs elsewhere on mega salaries, blame their woes on "the market" not themselves ,and probably wont be rushing to apply for IVAs if made redundant!![:I]

HI

I think they moved away from the 40p/£ level sometime ago, I was ffering 54p/£ and at the time they were refusing approx 90% of all IVA proposals put before them

The bank now has a low market value - 700 million. Was 5 bilion recently.Cheap to buy. But its lending labilities are are too hot to handle by any new UK Bank

They over borrowed and over lent.ABUSE, driven by greed.

That all means they are relying on Treasury coffers. Maybe they should nationalise NR.We can all own it and will end its IVA stance of - "Me first, everyone else last"

No sympathy for any of them and just think what they were like when they rang people asking for payment!

Quick to lend without looking at the application seriously!
