Hi,
Does anyone know if it is possible for my husband to get a mobile on contract from 3
we are both in an iva.
I have always been on a contract with o2 but I know they do a credit check for new contracts.

Thanks
An IVA is a long hard road but valuable lessons have been learnt along the way. Now looking forward to enjoying a debt free future!

Hi, not sure about 3 but T mobile are good for those of us in IVA. I got an ipad with T-mobile for the data plan - no questions asked. I'm also on a contract with o2 but will more than likely go to a sim only deal when I renew to keep costs down.

I've been in IVA just over 2 yrs and been with '3' for over 4yrs. I had both my daughters phones in my name along with my own and a contract for a laptop this is my 5th year with that. I get a new laptop every 2 years with them on contract. When I renewed this last time they said they had to run a credit check...so I thought well thats going to be a big fat no (as this was the first time they had done a check as far as I knew) Anyway the girl on the other end of the phone was gone what seemed like forever whilst they run the check. The longer it took the more I was starting to panic and was sure it was going to be a no. But much to my relief it came back a yes. Not sure if it was because they only checked my history with them or they run a full check. Maybe worth a try with 3. Good Luck.

Hi, whilst in an IVA I took a contract out for my daughter who was under 18 at the time (she paid the bill) with no problem with T-mobile.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Kallis who posts on here is with 3 and she had to get her daughter to take out the contract for her as 3 wouldn't allow her to do it.

Hi there

I tried to get a 3 contract in dec 2011 when my iva had 9 months left to run and was rejected .

In sept just gone , whist still awaiting completion certificate and so IVA still showing on my credit fie & still showing on insolvency register , I applied for a T Mob contract; I was accepted for an iphone5 & a sim for my ipad .

The odd forum member I'm sure Have I'm sure posted to say 3 accepted them , but more have had a similar experience to myself . T mob are actually quite good
Last payment made April 2012
Certificate received 1st Nov 2012

I was allowed a 2nd contract without a credit check with o2 for my sons mobile. Just applied online and it got approved.

Paul
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.
Continuing to rebuild our credit worthiness.

Full & Final submitted and accepted 30th March 2015, paid 10th April 2015 - 3 yrs 1 month into IVA :)

We both have contracts with Virginmedia which we started about half way through the IVA with no problems. I'm not sure if that was because we were existing Virgin customers though. However, we were declined by Orange.
I get knocked down, but I get up again. They ain't never gonna keep me down.
