Hi, I'm a teacher and every September we go up a point on the payscale. In September I received a payrise and I hve just sent off all my I & E details for my first annual review based on my new earnings. Today I was told payroll put me up two points on the payscale in error so I have been overpaid. They want £358 pounds taken out of pay this month along with putting my money down to the correct level. Not only will I be skint but my review docs are now all wrong and I will have to call my ip tomorrow. I'm soooo angry right now at the sheer incompetence of my payroll and the position they have put me in!

So unfair....speak with your IP and see if they can authorise a payment break for a month to allow you to get back to the right level etc ...I am sure they will find a solution for you.

How annoying - but it's not your fault, and your IP will be sympathetic. Miss a payment for a month if you need to pay the money back - it is hardly going to cause the failure of the IVA if all other payments are up to date currently.

I would also ask that your payroll take the extra payments off in some smaller amounts so you don't suffer , after all its there mistake

Did you not realise that there had been an overpayment before you sent all your details off?

How frustrating Ruth.

My husbands payroll are incompetent and we have to chase them every month for his payslips- in fact they 'lost' his October payslip and can't print a new one apparently!

Your IP should be ok as it is not your fault.
Started IVA 27th Feb 2012 - Due to complete 27th Jan 2018 !!

Full & Final submitted and accepted 30th March 2015, paid 10th April 2015 - 3 yrs 1 month into IVA :)

Hi I'd sent my details off last week and was only told yesterday about the over payment. So annoying.
