It can be down to different proposals. For example, I would breach the terms of my iva if I missed more than three payments so couldn't take 4 payments for something without needing creditor approval. The main thing is that everyone gets sorted eventually!

I suppose I was naive to assume that, other than specific personal details, IVA conditions were the same if put together by the same company. I was stunned when they told me I could take the 4 month break, I have to admit, because it seemed to me that even 1 month might be frowned upon. As you say, as long as it gets sorted, that's the main thing.

Not sure how they managed to support a 4 months break within the structure of your IVA lukerules, but I guess that is down to them at the end of the day and if it worked to your advantage there should be nothing to complain about!!!

Good news Jan - I know it had been a difficult month what with the boiler going, your daughters wedding - it all seems to happen all at the same time when your in an IVA so it is never easy ! At least it is sorted now !

I wanted to tag the payment onto the end but our proposal states that the IVA cannot go on for more than 60 months (other than the potential extra year in lieu of equity release).

Does seem a bit silly but we are chipping away at it over ten months.

It'll soon be paid. I appear to be constantly paying catchup. The minute I've no arrears you can guarantee Melanie will get an email!
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I am amazed that you only have 10 months to go Lesley. Where on earth has all that time gone! (Bet it does not feel as quick for you!!)

To be fair Melanie, it hasn't gone too bad, the first 18 months were my nightmare of the IVA. After that and with the help of a great IP it got less stressful.
