Paypal isn't a bank account as such though, is it? You can't spend more than you have in there. Mine is linked to Ebay and I do use it occasionally for purchases elsewhere on the net.

I have never had a problem with them at all.

Paypal isn't a bank account as you rightly say but as the credit card in the IVA is Paypal linked (albeit in name only) they may not allow Huge Mess to operate any sort of business with them.

I also have been using Paypal and Ebay to buy and sell items for 9 years now, but when I had reached the point of no return financially and an IVA or bankruptcy was the only options left - I went for the IVA, and was told to open a new bank account to have my wages and all other financial transactions go through it, for transparency and regular perusal of my bank statements by DFD - (the company I am with!). I made sure that I had updated my new bank details and debit card with both Paypal and Ebay, not forgetting to delete the details of my previous bank account & credit card at the same time, so the transfer has been seamless and completely problem free and I am still able to buy and sell without any hiccups at all.

I just buy and sell bits on Ebay, and all I did was just change my bank account details and everything continued as normal.
