Ahhhhhhhh total panic set in. Received letter this morning from ip that my hubbys iva payment has not been received.!!!! We pay our ivas by standing order on 4th of every mth. 1st iva payment made on 4th feb. Have checked with bank all account numbers are correct and that payment was taken . My payment has been received but not hubbys ,i have now got to send bank statement off to Clearstart to confirm payment was made . Another worry where has the money gone .

Dont worry Rachel if the payment was made and you have the proof it doesnt lie with you. Annoying though when you do your best and someone else mucks it up.

I am so worried . Yes it is annoying , the first payment of your iva and it goes missing !!!! i have the bank statement to send off for proof , but i have sent email to Clearstart to check again to see if they have received the payment. It just seems strange that they have my payment but not hubbys.

Aguise, Had a reply from Clearstart after i asked them to check again . They have found hubbys payment !(thank god)lol but someone in finance hadnt credited it to his account. What alot of worry over someone at other end cocking it up. The chap i spoke to knew i wasnt very happy, the payment was just sat in an account waiting to be found ! Thanks for your help.

Hubby once had a payment taken by standing order and a few days later it was paid back into the account. When he called the bank to ask why he was told that HE had cancelled the standing order.
Of course we knew he hadnt but the bank were adamant he had and he was charged £35 for the inconvenience.
He stood in the bank and rang DFD and told them to speak to the bank clerk who finally admitted it MAY have been a computer error.
He still had to pay the £35 charge though but DFD were happy to believe it wasnt his mistake so it wasnt counted against him.

Glad you got it sorted Rachell. I had the same problem with one of my IPA payments - I got a letter from the OR telling me that I hadn't paid! The letter arrived on a Saturday so I couldn't do anything, and when I phoned them on Monday they told me it was an error with the system and the money had now been credited.

Thanks for replies . Yes feeling better now had a cuppa. Just when you think everything is going dandy , something crops up. Just waiting for chap to ring me back to say payment has been credited to hubbys account . Have just changed standing order date with permission of ip , very helpful . Got car tax due this week and because i have only just started budgeting and saving my contingency was going to be a bit tight to pay next months payments but they have said i can change payment date to 13th instead of 4th(so thats good news)!

Why would you still pay the charge? I would have insisted on it being refunded by whoever responsible as it wasn't your fault.

They insisted he pay it. We didnt know if they would just deduct it from anything that was paid in, leaving us stuck again. I suppose at the time we were just relieved that it hadnt caused a problem to the IVA. Perhaps we were a bit naive. Another reason we wished we'd have found this forum sooner.

I still hope that one day IVA Companies will make the details of our IVA "accounts" available on-line with access by a password - along the lines of the internet banking offered by most of the banks.

This would give people great peace of mind as you would be able to confirm immediately that your payments had been credited as required.
47 months completed - 13 months to go.

This also happened exactly the same to me. Initial 1st payment lost in company accounts, and it happened also to be Clearstart!! Got the phone call to say not received and got all anxious and worried then they found it.

When i first contacted a few IVA companies i'm sure Payplan did offer a service whereby you could review your payments made each month to your account on-line? I may be wrong!![:X]
