Because some creditors like to see this modification and others don't. It's as simple as that really, and there is no reason why you cannot have a pension during and IVA, so long as creditors agree that this is reasonable expenditure. Also if you have money held in savings this is an asset, and if it is not required to meet immediate expenditure it is perfectly fair to accept that creditors will want the money paying over for their benefit.

Your IP has obviously decided that your work pension provision is sufficient for you and that an additional personal pension is an expensive luxury. I would be inclined to agree probably, but difficult to really comment without full knowledge of your case.

A pay as you go credit card is not a form of credit, as you are only spending what you put on the card in the first place - but how would you be able to fund the initial sum to the card whilst in an IVA?

Perhaps this is because you took advice from an IP "adviser" rather than an insolvency practitioner, John.

If you are referring to the cards where you pay a lump sum up front for convenience, and then use them as you would a credit card, then I can absolutely assure you that this is not a form of credit.

I have a pre-paid card, which I had during my IVA and now in BR. I would ask the advisor for the fees to have the card re-issued!

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

John when the rep came out to see you was this when they cut it up. I think you will find she thought, as it was with the other cards that it was the same. You cannot distinguish between the look of the cards. I think you will find a lot of people dont even know that they exist .
