Hi everyone,

Thought I'd share a bit of good news with you..I've just passed my ECDL advanced and my company are now paying for me to do my NVQ Assessor training!

I've started being a bit cheeky and asking to go on all sorts of training courses, especially the free ones. It could all help in the future and it gives you a buzz.

So before long I'll be an Office Manager / HR advisor /NVQ Assessor....oops and I'm also the finance manager (don't laugh).

Well Done Swans girl
"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don’t and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said that it’d be easy, they just promised it would be worth it."

Thanks everyone,

All my office staff are going to benefit from NVQ's too as they are free to all age groups in Wales.

Hi Swans Girl, well done to you a massive achievment, I teach it so know how tricky it can be! Try for ITQ now maybe, the new NVQ in computing!

Oh swans girl accept your glory, do not play it down it's a brilliant qualification and she knows more than a little bit about spreadsheets, databases, powerpoint, word processing, file management, internet and email, do you need me to go on! There is a lot of work to do on this course and it's a hard syllabus to follow. ITQ is done in the workplace so might be something for you next and if you get your A1 award you can then become an ITQ assessor!

CLAiT is still available and still popular the examining body for that is OCR (Oxford,Cambridge and RSA Examinations), ECDL's examining body is BCS (British Computer Society)so they are totally different exams, CLAiT can be taken modular and can be tailor made to your requirements whereas ECDL you have to follow the syllabus and achieve every module to gain the full award. Gosh I do waffle about things ...sorry! x

Thanks for your kind messages - I did CLAIT years ago, but the ECDL seems to be the qualification most organisations recognise at the moment.

I would just encourage everyone to take up any training that's offered. I've been an Office Manager for over 10 years now and have HR qualifications as well, but after finishing the IVA I intend to change my career, thats why I'm doing as much training as possible. It keeps the old brain ticking over too lol

Congratulations Swans Girl, not an easy one to pass[:)]
I believe from friends taking it that there was plenty of it although an exam that is thought highly of. Well done

I am just starting to plough through the OCR advanced text processing/word processing courtesy of work, so that should be good if I can pass that.

It certainly keeps your mind focused all these exams[:D]
