My partner is in the final stages of purchasing a property and I have just personally recieved a consent and waiver form from the building society that is providing his mortgage. They require me to sign this form if i am to live in his property. Does anyone know if my IVA will effect this in any way? I may be being over causious but i would rather be in this case. Any advise welcome #9786;
The purpose of this form is to deny you obtaining ant equitable interest in the property -- which distances you from it and, therefore, has no impact on the IVA, nor the IVA on the mortgage.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
I take it you are not involved in the mortgage in any way? It may be they just want to make sure that you won't have any claim on his property. Not really sure but hopefully someone else will have some idea.

Thanks, i have never done anything like this before and would never forgive myself if my IVA prevented my partner from buying his house. I am not on the mortgage, it is all in his name. This is the only time i have been needed and my signiture needed
Hi. It's an entirely normal requirement as you will live in the property but not party to the mortgage. All lenders require this for anyone over the age of 17 living in the property. It should have no impact whatsoever on your IVA as far as I can see.
