Just had a gentleman on telephone from paragon.. he advised he knew I was going for IVA but I had to make a token payment to him and all of my creditors. Told him I couldn't do this.. he said "So you can't afford to pay anything?" I replied NO!!

Who are Paragon and why are they calling you on a Sunday ? I was advised by Debtmatters not to pay anything to anyone once the wheels were in motion as they would sort it out.

If they are not your intended IP, then ignore them and tell them you'll contact someone to complain about harrassment.

Always follow your ip's advice. some advise token payments some tell you to stop entirely. I was told I could do what I wanted! I paid the amount I was proposing pro rata to all mine.
Just ignore em!

No Paragon are the creditor I owe the most to.. long story!! (its a 11 year debt with an ex where I owe more now than I originally borrowed in 1997 over 7 year). Just he sounded dodgy when I said No, he said ok I'll mark that on your record.. just worries me incase would go against the vote.

Melanie and her team advised to me pay nothing to anyone, but this is first creditor who have actually asked for a token payment

Angela - there is no harm in making a token payment to this creditor if it means that they will stop hassling you. I suggest you try £10 and that might stop the calls for another month, so it is probably worth it. Just make sure that if you are going to make token payments to this and your other creditors that you do it proportionately to the amount you owe and the amount of disposable income you have available.

If I make one to Paragon would I not have to do so with the rest.. don't want to look as though favouring one creditor over the others.

I was only worried incase me declining offer would affect the vote!! I can cope with the calls, just want to limit damage!!

I have read proposal and signed it, Melanie.. have put a short letter in with a couple of changes and we will post it tomorrow.

Not necessarily, as in reality it makes absolutely no difference to your creditors whether you pay token payments or not to be frank. But it may just stop the nasty calls and letters.
