Hooray all the paperwork this end is complete, waiting for a chat this coming Monday for our pre proposal - i think that's what its called... is this just to clarify everything? and make sure everything is correct before proposals being sent? and a creditors meeting set up??
We already feel a huge weight lifted by receiving the email that paperwork this end is complete so far.. Have explained the ins and outs with our eldest child over the past week or so and hopefully we can teach him about the value of money and hopefully he will not be in the same situation that we find ourselves and then when our younger children get older we can teach them the same lessons, just hope they take it on board and listen.
I just hope when our proposals go out that the creditors will accept it - things are going to be very tight for the next 5 years but in a way im quite excited by the thought of sticking to a rigid budget and being debt free in the future. is that wrong to be excited about budgeting? lol x

It's not wrong at all and you'll find it very satisfying to budget and try and save a penny or two.

You're on the road now and good luck for Monday x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Spanna I presume your chat on monday will be with your case worker, to go over all the information and check if you are happy with the figures so they can finish your proposal. Then you will have a chat with your IP(Melanie?) a few days latter and then they will send you your proposal for you to read , sign and send back.Im also with Melanie and just a little bit ahead of you. Hopefully we will have the creditors meeting before Christmas. I wish you all the best with yours! Im sure we will be fine, we have the best team (Melanie`s) looking after us!

Hi Lulu123 many thanks for your comments, will be nice to have someone kind of alongside me at the same time and that were both with Mel and her team. I hope yours goes smoothly too, im quite looking forward to setting up a budget to work from and having the older children involved too so they can learn some basic financials before entering adulthood - i wish i had this knowledge back then but hey a huge lesson learnt. Heres hoping to some good christmas news that our iva's get accepted before christmas day :) x

Hi Spanna and Lulu, also submitted all paperwork my end 2 weeks ago and waiting for a call to discuss. Also with Mel's team, so that makes 3 of us on this journey. Sharing the same feelings, cancelled direct debits a few weeks ago and awaiting for default letters and phone calls!

Ignore the calls and send the letters on to Mel's office.

Not far from Birmingham. For the first 3 years of our married life, though, (almost 30 yrs ago now!) we too lived in Torquay.

Thanks Spanna. We have had a very rough 12 years getting to this position, living extremely frugally (This will be our third cold Christmas as we need a new boiler), so to be honest Im not so much daunted as relieved.
