Hi all
Our iva finishes in July
Today we received a letter from barclays plc which is one of our creditors.
The letter said we were due some refund and to ring them.So ring them we did and they said there was £52 to be returned to us.We asked where the money came from, they replied a third party had been paying it and the money was ours.
The question is do we need to inform our IP

It can't hurt you to speak to them - if you can keep it then great!!

Yes until you get your CC you will probably find this money would be due into your IVA.

You might find that actually Barclays would pick up on this at some point and actually not send the funds to you after all.

Barclays may believe the money belongs to you but it may actually still be due into the IVA.

I'm surprised the Bank would state that without checking with your IP first.

Sorry about that - to save yourself the hassle you could tell Barclays to send it direct to your IP.

No worries lisa when you have been in an iva for nearly six years things like this a "water off a ducks back"as they say.
Hiccups like this happen and to be fair freeman jones are very good and they answer the phone usually straight away and give you an answer to your query quickly.
Mind you they weren't like this three years ago so I think they've got their act together
