Its been a month now since it all ended. I still haven't got used to being able to go and buy something without wondering, should I, or shouldn't I, what will the IP say etc etc. It feels like i have been given freedom.

Those of you still going down the road, stick at it, I know it is not easy, but the end is worth the effort.

Regards........Howard

Posts like yours used to annoy me at the start of my insolvency, but I soon realised I was just jealous! Everyones iva or br journey is a personal one and we will all get there in the end.

I do hope you have started saving!

Well done on completing.

Ah the green eyed monster! Must admit you feel envious of those who have completed lol. Gives me the strength to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Well done Howard and I hope you have treated yourself to something nice!

They don't annoy me -- they remind me that there is an end -- and a better life after IVA.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

howard07 - it is now 5 months since mine finished. I have inherited since then as well - but still I pick something up and put it down and say NO ! The IVA certainly helps you to re-focus ! The only extravagence I have had with my inheritance is a new mattress ! Went food shopping today armed with my list and didn't deviate once ! £58 for two of us including 4 bottles of cider and a few guiness ! Meat, salad, veg included - you can do it if you stick to the list and watch the portion sizes that you buy - I have started really thinking about volumes - don't buy the BOGOF anymore as always landed up thinking that will be ok for ...but never used it !

There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !

Couldn't agree with you more. Some very good lessons learned. An IVA does have a lot of positives.

We buy BOGOF's for the stuff we normally use and can always put them away until the next time we need it.

I do still buy stuff I don't need, but make sure it doesn't take me past my budget for the week.

I'm the same Jan. I try and buy the stuff we use a lot when it's on special offer but I do still buy things I don't need - I don't think I'll ever be cured of that!

I agree Howard, the end is definatly worth it so stick with it.

I just got paid at the weekend. It does feel kind of weird though, I'm looking at my balance online and thinking it is all mine to keep :-)
