Thought I would start a thread as I have submitted a F&F offer through Melanie's Company and thought it might be useful for some members perhaps contemplating making F&F offers of the procedures and time scales involved.

I submitted the offer, well posted it to my IVA company, on Thursday 6th June. This included a full I&E statement, bank statements, pay slips & a letter from my mum in law (she is offering the money to me) explaining the reasons for the offer to assist & that the money is solely available for the F&F offer.

I also explained that as my mum in law is terminally ill we would like the proceedings to move as swiftly as possible.

The offer made is reasonable I think, its slightly more than my existing payment x the number of months left to pay but we really want to put this chapter of our lives behind us and didnt want to risk having an offer turned down for the sake of a few hundred pounds.

So now its a waiting game, no news as yet but we remain hopeful, my mum in law started chemotherapy this week and that is taking it's toll but we are keeping our chins up.

I will update the thread as I hear news.

Cheers all.

Hi bepto

Could you identify yourself to me off-line please, so I can keep an eye on proceedings from this end. I gather that you are an existing rather than a new client.

Tried to contact you via your website Melanie but must be a problem with it I guess?

Nikki is dealing with things for me your end, I'm sure she can bring you up to speed on my case (my initials are PS).

Anyway, for other forum users - Been asked to provide a few more details to complete the proposal which I posted out to my IVA company on Friday. Some wage slips that I missed previously, and other bits of paperwork.

I'm hopeful of getting a date soon and will update as necessary.

Almost forgot, my 1st post should have mentioned that I needed a property valuation and mortgage redemption statement. This is because of the equity release clause in my IVA. I do not have enough equity in the property for this to be invoked (I think).

I will definitely be reviewing this next week for you Bepto. We are handling an awful lot of variations at the moment, and every case has to be dealt with in turn - but I do understand the reasons behind you wanting to get this done quickly.

Good luck bepto, hopefully your IVA will soon be behind you and you can concentrate on your mum in law. I can imagine it must be a torrid time for your family....I went through the same news with both my Mum & Dad within weeks of eachother and I couldn't put in words how devastating that period of my life was.

Best wishes for the future.

Quick update: no news yet, I was hoping we would have a date by now and my mum in laws condition is becoming worse :(

she isn't doing very well with the chemotherapy either but on a lighter note we all had a great weekend with relatives in the south of England last week which perked her up a bit and lifted all our spirits.

Fingers crossed still for some news soon.

It is pretty much at the top of my list now. I am sorry that you feel that things are taking rather a long time, but I am doing my best to clear all priority client work and hope this will be finalised by the end of next week for you.

I wasn't saying things are taking too long Melanie, I have no clue as to how long the process usually takes. That was the point of the thread really to let others gauge how the process works, the information they need to provide and the time scales involved.

I'm sure you and your team are doing your best for us.

I promise it is receiving priority treatment given the circumstances.
