Things are ok thanks. Haven't posted on the forum for a while as I have been very busy at work and have been too tired when I get home in the evenings, but have looked in occasionally. We are now into our 3rd month of our IVA and finding it a bit difficult trying to budget, but I think I'm getting there. Doesn't help with food and fuel prices keep going up. Wont be long before people will start digging up their concrete gardens to plant their own veg!
I am really glad things are looking up for you now, you deserve it.
Trickles x

Ah, thanks for your support Trickles. 3 months....can't believe it! Where does the time go? Glad you're ok, know what you mean about budgeting, I think we really will have to sell the car soon, just can't afford it. We've got mountain bikes, so at least we'll be fit! Take care of yourself, don't work yourself TOO hard. Viki X

Hey all,

Just waiting for the landlord to sort something out and then it will be in the hands of the solicitors so I don't think it will be too long now.

Something was said today that's been bugging me so I thought I'd ask your opinion. The buyer said she wants to have a meeting with the chef as soon as possible. Hmm, should I let them meet? It doesn't seem right to me. What if they don't come to an agreement and he leaves and then I've got no chef. Shouldn't she only be having a meeting with the staff on the day of completion?

I'm not sure if by law I have to let the buyer meet the staff prior to sale, so maybe I should call ACAS, I don't want to blow it all out of proportion.

Any ideas?

Hey Ladyh, thanks for your advice. Yes, all the staff are transferring with the business which I'm glad about. Maybe I should ask him. I haven't told the staff or customers yet, going to tell them week after next when chef back from his hols.

Just don't know what to do for the best. She also wants her builders in next week to cost up etc, don't mind that I suppose as long as they don't start knocking walls down![:0]

Hi Vicki

glad its all still rolling along!

As the buyer eats there often she must like the chef(rather than dislike him) As she probably views him as a major asset of the business
she probably wants to ensure he is going to be happy to work for her, or she could walk in on day 1 and find the chef not there!![B)]
I would check he is staying, then prime him on what he might like to say to her[;)]. arrange a meeting but make sure you are there to referee the meeting (and stop him possibly saying how tough its gonna be to turn the business round,or the like)

Make sure YOUR in control Vicki!

And prey they get on!![:)] If you dont let the buyer meet the chef it could set alarm bells ringing!

Good luck!x

Thank you jpj, I really appreciate all the advice you have given me these past few months. I have probably been worrying about nothing, I'm just really, really paranoid that something is going to mess this all up! I think you and Ladyh are right. I'll tell the chef, arrange a meeting and sit in on it. Ooh, can't wait for this all to be done and dusted. X
