Has anyone had any luck with signing up for Noddle I have tried a few times to sign up but it just bounces my card. I know its free and the card is for verification and security purposes however do you think because of being in an IVA and obliviously they cant sell us any credit they wont let us in ????
Im sure thats not the case, it can only be a prob with their site. Perhaps try again today or from another computer. Equifax and Experian both do credit reports when you sign up with them. Its free, but you have to remember to cancel your subscription within the first 28 days or it will continue and you will be charged. Once I saw my credit report I immediately cancelled so I wouldnt forget. Best wishes R

I think it probably is a problem with the site - I signed up recently and managed it.
I also use free annual credit report. Once completed I'll get paper copies from the agencies to clean our files up.

Must be a site problem then. Might be worth emailing them to find out?

Hi, I am very confused about this whole credit check thing. Part of the terms of my IVA (and most people's I believe) is that I can only have a basic bank account with a cash card only, not a debit card. I finished paying my IVA on 1st Feb and have tried to access the three main sites, but all require entering debit/credit card details. How do so many people on here seem to manage it no problem??
A lotof us have a 'normal' basic bank account with a debit card, some even have a full account if they were able to apply before their credit rating took a nose dive.
With your application to the agencies it will be have to be via snail mail and will cost you £2 a time.

Well I must say I am really annoyed with Payplan - they specifically told me that a debit card is not allowed in an IVA, needless to say I've spent the last 5 years unable to purchase things from the internet, for example (which we all know is usually much cheaper) - things like contact lenses etc, so I've been paying over the odds from an opticians. I bank with HSBC, does anyone know if I can ask for a debit card for a basic account, or will they do a credit check and refuse me?
Strange - I'm with Payplan and was never told that. OK, I'm with Nationwide who initially only had a cash card but they've since upgraded it to a debit card and I have actually used that to make a payment to Payplan with no problems.
I wouldn't rock the boat with HSBC - they are known for closing accounts for people with an IVA so you're lucky you still have one. You must have slipped through the net!!
You could always open up a Co-op Cashminder account - they come recommended and have a debit card.

Was just going to say that Jan, HSBC are well known for closing accounts of anyone with a BR or IVA, im guessing they dont actually know your insolvency status.
When i first enterted my IVA i got an account with RBS who at first only allowed me a cash card, then within a year it was 'upgraded' so i could have a visa debit card. im suprised you were told you could have a debit card as if there isnt the money in the account you cant use it, unlike a card which is based on loaned credit.
