Think banking advertise the account as an account for every one,says it all really.

Thanks everyone

I will try lloyds first as everthing is set up already. If they upgrade me to a debit card thats all I really need, I have internet banking already which I find useful. Looks like I am going to be in the DMP for a while longer anyway as the buyer for the house has pulled out.... eeeeeeesh

Dawn,

Amazed you couldn't open an account with Nationwide.

Did you ask for a Basic Flexaccount or a normal Flexaccount? The basic one should be available to anyone who can prove their identity regardless of theircredit status.

I opened a Basic account in 10 minutes with them.

I got an account with lloyds tsb. they knew about IVA and offered me cheque book, debit card and internet banking.
Jobs a good un.
