I have been interviewed for a new job and have fortunately been successful with it. The role is in the financial services sector but I would be dealing with complaints.
The strange thing is now that they have asked me to complete an application form for their records and one of the questions is: Have you ever entered an IVA with your creditors?
I believe honesty is the best policy but I really don't want it to affect my job prospects.
Has anyone ever lied on their app form and it come back on them? Or should I just be upfront and honest?
We have done IVAs for a number of people in the financial sector and the IVA itself is not an automatic bar. However, non disclosure is gross misconduct and since the IVA is public record it is essential that you declare. Hopefully your application is not affected but if so it is better than being dismissed later.
