I was a little surprised yesterday when I received a letter from Cahoot stating that I had not made any payments for a few months so could I contact them. I have been in a IVA since 8th March this year. They said that they had no knowledge of the IVA's aceptance which was a little surprising and that the paperwork must have got lost! When I checed my paperwork they hadn't actually bothered to vote at my creditors meeting but they are down on the original proposal. The woman from cahoot then went onto say that I would be served a Default Notice is this normal? Obviously I have referred this back to Payplan who my IVA is with, am I worrying unnecessarily.

Jane

2 down only 58 payments to go!!!!!

Hi Janey
I think that when proposals go out they have to be signed for, so I am sure they would have got the proposal if they didnt vote ,they didnt want to or didnt get round to it, their fault. Dont worry leave it for your company to deal with, but check they do. Most of the time one dept at thesae creditors dont tell the other what is going on. Dont worry no need to.

aquise is correct don't worry. many times the person you are dealing with via telephone has no knowledge of the IVA because the news has not trickled down yet.Inform your IP and all will be well. You've done your bit [:)]enjoy your Bank Holiday.

Hi Janey

I remember when i first started my iva and one of my creditors called me about the debt. I told them about the iva and gave them the ip's name etc and never heard from them again, now 3 years into my iva and ip STILL hasn't heard from them. So if they phone again politely tell your in a iva and if they continue to call you, you will report them for harrasment

Hi
No need to worry but you must get your IP to write to Cahoot so that they stop bothering and worrying you.
