So sorry to hear this Lyns.

If they don't already get it it would be worth applying for attendance allowance for your parents. My Mum can't get around as well as she used to and she now gets it. The forms can be a bit daunting but it's worth applying x

Lyns,
What a horrible time your having. my thoughts are with you,

I hope you can get something sorted as everyone else had suggested ring GT they might be able to help with payment breaks, especially as you paid the last one off.

I think you can get the mobility component but you can't get the car if you are over 65 unless you are already getting one.

Good idea about the attendance allowance.

Lyns - get in touch with Karol and I'm sure she will help you out.

What a wretched situation to be in Lyns. I do hope you manage to get something sorted out soon. Cars are just the worst things when they go wrong!!!! Try and keep your chin up and by the way your little baby is looking as gorgeous as ever - particularly love the picture posted today on fb x

Just a thought, but do you think your IVA company would consider offering a full and final on money paid to date? You have so much on your plate with a very young baby, your other two children and having to look after your parents who clearly need your support. This car episode is such an horrendous piece of bad luck, I can't begin to understand how you are feeling. Hope your IVA company support you through this difficult time.

Hi all - thank you for your lovely comments & support, I felt alot better after I posted and shared my troubles with you.

I've just phoned GT this morning to request a months payment break, I've had to email copies of the failed MOT certificate to them & wait there response now. I've asked to pay back the break over a period of 4 months, so I've done all the working out for them!

My Dad claims mobility allowance for my Mum & yes there too old to get the Car component part :( My Dads still plodding on, but he is blind in one eye from a accident before I was born & the other has Cataracts & now needs a operation. But the consultant he was under has been cut in the cut back so we fear dad will have to wait longer & he is already very bad. He's terrified of going blind before the operation & that really would make life difficult for me to care for them.

I've never thought of asking for a F&F and to be honest I'm to scared too! We have plodded & struggled through this whole process & Im very proud we have got this far & I dont want to mess it up!
My husbands work which is in hospitality hes a head chef, have brought in a clause that if there is no work as in guests, then they can be laid of for 2-4 weeks at a time. He would be last one out of the door but after working there 10 years, they do end up with weeks just before christmas & after new year where the hotel closes. I might have to ask for a F&F if this happens to him this year.

I dont want to have anything spoil my time with Leah, she's my last baby and after having post natal depression with the boys, I felt I missed out.
Final IVA payment made in April 2013, never ever thought we could do it or get through it but we did! X

Lyns I would be asking GT for your options regarding offering creditors payments to date as F&F. Is a one month payment break going to actually help out at all. We had a 3 month break to fund a modest car purchase(2500),but still had to borrow 1000 from family to buy the car!!

Nothing should spoil your time with the porridge eater!!!!

You can ask Lyns - if you tell them the whole circumstances then I'm sure something can be sorted as you are so close to the end.

Email Karol and see what she says about it.
