Hi Connie

I had charges on my bank account for being £1.04 overdrawn. I rang telephone banking and was told I had to write a letter. I went into my branch and they sorted it out. I would suggest going into a local branch as they have more power to sort out charges etc then their colleagues in a customer services centre.
37 payments made, 23 to go.

was the payment made by paypal i assume? if so open a dispute and you will no doubt recieve that money back. It will atleast give you some kind of proof that it was a fraudulant transaction.

Regards

shocking connie i hope you sort it out i thought one of the stipulations in an IVA was to keep your account in credit?

which account has been hacked into? is it Ebay, paypal or both?
If the sale has gone through on your ebay account and you still have access get in touch with the seller and advice them although it's probably too late to stop them posting. They are a victim here as well.
If it's just your paypal account and you can still log in, raise a dispute immediatly. They will refund although it will take at least 10 days. If your password has been changed you won't be able to access this but contact them with all the details.
Ebay won't be able to help if it's just your paypal account.
As for the bank, choose a time when it's really busy and very loudly make a complaint [:D]

it is normally in credit but because they've added charges and this was money i wasn't expecting to come out its put me overdrawn even though i don't have an overdraft. if it had happened tomorrow i'd have been ok as my hubby gets paid so my account will be back in credit tomorrow.
it was ebay & paypal. i'm hopefully getting a refund from ebay its more the bank charges i'm worried about.

It was the banks fault for allowing you to go overdrawn in the first place. They should have rejected the transaction. It's fraudulant and they should refund all charges. There's no way this has cost them anywhere near £38!
It sounds like they are trying it on and hope you'll go away.
They have the discretion to reverse this and let's face it, to them this is peanuts. I would have a word personally within the branch and if you can take whatever proof you have. Make some noise if you have to!
Or phone them and demand to speak to the supervisor and higher if neccessary.
Good luck and give them hell [}:)]

Hi connie there is a phone number to ring ebay as i have done it when they kept refusing my payments, and it was their prob. i think if you go through the contact us bits not sure where it is. i will have a look and see if I can find it. Ebay should refund you this and the charges. though natwest could as easily do it.

Or, you could try 0208 605 3000 which is the geographical number associated with the 0870 number. Press Option 1 for Customer Services. Funnily enough, on the saynoto0870 site, this also comes up for Ebay.

As for Ebay, I am sure that only certain customers are given the telephone number, possibly those who use Ebay selling manager pro.

They do promise to answer an email within 24 hours though.
