I changed my bank to Natwest when I originally went on a DMP prior to my IVA, as I didnt have any debts through this bank. I was given a basic account, or step as it was previously known as, and a first reserve savings account which operates like a current account.
Then Natwest announced last year that the basic bank account holders would only be allowed to use Natwest ATM's I assumed this was both my accounts with them but after speaking to a snotty customer services rep today have been informed that my first reserve account can be used at any ATM!!!!

So if like me you are a Natwest basic account holder, try to open a first reserve account (savings with a visa debit card) and you will be able to use all atm's like everyone else.

I have somehow and don't ask me how managed to upgrade account to the Select account from Step...just a fluke I think so now I can use my card anywhere but I'm in the process of changing over direct debits/so's and so running two accounts which in itself is a pain but will be done by the end of the month.

A good way around it though via the link provided. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Well done Lesley.
