Looking under the bonnet of a modern car now is scary! I can check oil and water and change a wheel at a push but that's about it.

He won't touch his daughters car - she has a 51 plate mini.

Hi all! Goodness Im so sorry I have not been around, I really miss the forum but Ive had so much on my plate these past few weeks. A major family member has really not helped on top of the problems I already have to deal with!

Just thought I would update you on our car situation! Well its like trying to find a needle in a haystack!! We have been interested in 2 cars & both have been sold before we have got our funds together :(
We have been trawling the net, gumtree, autotrader, dealers & it really is getting quite stressful!
I have just had to phone Grant Thornton up to ensure my payment break is all ok, I needed reassuring!!! It all authorized & ok not going to be in any trouble etc, but because of the switch from BE to GT they cant change/access the Direct Debit information yet, so advised me to cancel my DD & they would send me a form in July to re set up the DD from August, Good job I phoned!
Today I have had a couple of dealers contact me & they have some I may be interested in, like the ones that have been sold that I wanted YEAH!!!! they wont be ready for viewing till next week which is when I have my half of the money. Bless my Dad if it was not for him we would be stuffed n buying a banger, so fingers crossed!!!

Hope your all ok & I will be back once car & family crisis' are resolved!!!!!!!! x

Thank U Lesley, I am really stressed out about it all! Present cars MOT runs out on the 19 July, so we feel like the clock is ticking.
But we are not being rushed into buying anything, & some dealers are willing to take our car & knock some money off another one, which is great considering the state its in! And if we go through a private seller there is a garage whom will buy it off us & we can get some tax back. We just need to find the car we are after now x
