Glad you have a resolution however hard it is, I do hope you get it sorted soon, it must be so hard. This is my biggest worry going into it. Very scary. Hope you find a great reliable runner that will see you through your IVA!

Not look at emails yet Jan!!! We have been running back round the 2 garages we went to & one more, just to put our minds at rest.
They were really good & totally understood our position & it put the hubbys mind at rest too as he was wrestling with it all!!!
Also we can get money for scrapping the car & get some road tax back, as its taxed till 31st Jan 2012.
Just thought to add for those in similar troubles, Ive got to send GT a copy of the invoice for the new car, just for their records in case the creditors ask.

Thank you so much Jan, you have been an absolute angel to me xxx
Janet thank you for messages on FB, I really did appreciate them xxx
Rich, if your looking in thank you for the lovely idea & comments, it really made me smile & cry! xxx
Judo, where there's a will there's a way!!!! :)
Thank you to everyone else for your kind replies I appreciate everyone of you on here, just wish me luck on looking for a new car!!!!! We have 6 weeks before the rust buckets MOT runs out!!!!
Final IVA payment made in April 2013, never ever thought we could do it or get through it but we did! X

We needed a payment break and loan from family to get enough for a ten year old golf.

Bargain and has served us well!!

Good to see some positive feedback for the GT client service team for a change - make sure you get confirmation of that agreement in writing to avoid any confusion later on.

Glad to hear that you have got the go ahead to get you car sorted as for you IT IS A PRIORITY!!!
An IVA is not a Punishment although it does seem like that sometimes and all the IP's know that you get the Rough with the Smooth as the months go by.
My understanding is that if you are Upfront and inform your IP about your situation then 9/10 they will come to an agreement and Help you as no IP or Creditor wants to see you or a Family Suffer especially when it's in the Best Interests for the IVA to complete succesfully.
There is no knowing WHAT CAN HAPPEN TOMMOROW!!!but after you have got your Car you will then be back on Track and can carry on the IVA.

The Worst thing you can do is NOT INFORM your IP and just miss payments then you will be on a Rocky Road!!!

Don't get too down as i have had to miss payments like many of the other posters on the Forum due to Circumstances beyond my control ,but as long as am infor ming them of what is going on, thats all IP can ask for.

41 MONTHS IN and feel like im Debt Free even though i am in IVA.

Good Luck with the Car!!!!

Thank you Melaine - I think I will follow it up with a email & ask them to confirm everything either by post or email.
My payments go out by direct debit - so they have to amend the payments at their end. As with a Standing Order its in my control I think. Do you think this will be ok?

Lesley - no worries hun, I hope your ok too, you know where I am too x

Thanks everyone for your replies, we really did not want to go down a payment break route, but surviving without a Car is just not going to happen!!!!

I am so, so very happy that you have managed to sort something out. I am also glad that GT were so understanding. Get yourself sorted with the car and everything else will fall into place.
Big hugs for you, 'where there's a will there's a way'! You are living proof of it my sweet :) xx
