My IVA has now been completed, what is the route to take to improve my credit rating ?

Well done on completion.
Until the 6th anniversary of the start of iva your credit file will still show the IVA.
All creditors who have entered default dates should receive notification of closure to your IVA via your IP. Defaults by individual creditors should not be beyond the START date of your IVA. If they are you can write to the creditor requesting amendment...you might have to send a copy of your certificate to them as proof. ...normally takes two or three weeks before a change is seen, and unfortunately some creditors simply ignore your requests (Natwest being one in particular).
In the mean manage your bank account in the right manner, along with a mobile phone contract...ensure your on the electoral roll as well...all helps to build your credit rating.
Some consider taking out a credit card for one or two purchases a month and clear the balance ....vanquis are a good bet (unless you have them as a previous creditor).....
