Hope you get this sorted fuzzy-dunlop. I had to rebuild mine because of similar symptoms many times. I got out all my rescue discs and software and reinstalled them all from scratch. I think I choose the restore the registry option while the machine was booting up, I'd lost all my info so had nothing to loose and it worked. Worth a go.

I had a simialr problem with my desktop pc ---- was told it might be a loose connection. so I disconnected everything (one at a time) and reconnected ..... did notive one of the clips on the side of my RAM chips was open and the chip loose. Don't know if that was the problem, but the PC has worked ever since [:)]
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

I'd say get the PC to a repairs specialist first, generally with PC's if something breaks its relatively easy to replace the broken part with a new one, unlike with laptops

Did the blue screen mentions something like:

IRQL not less than or greazter to?

If its that thats gnerally the hard drive dying and needing replacment.

If it says Umountable boot volume then Windows needs reinstlaling

If its a seris of X800000000000 then thats liley to be one of th ememory chips that needs replacing
