Yes I feel confident you are all sick of hearing about my boiler, but believe me I'm sick of it too and need vent some of my anger or I'll blow a gasket too!

He's been again today, still no heating, still no hot water, he's as frustrated as we are. My problem is paying him so I took the bull by the horns tonight and phoned him for a ball park figure, we're now talking £600 minimum [:0] as it stands!!Where the hell am I supposed to find this, he's a really nice chap and I know the bill total will be more so if I work on £800 - £1000. He said we can come to an arrangement for payment and I said 'oh thank you', he says his priority is to reinstate my hot water and heating, you shouldn't be without it' yes very nice man but I can't take credit, not that I told him that! Does paying him in instalments constitue credit?? Maybe my IP can tell me on forum? [;)]

I am so frustrated by all this! Initial estimate £250, now think it will be 4 times that! Have had no hot water since before Christmas and no heating now for two weeks, it's got to be fixed, it's just paying for it that is causing me so much worry at the minute.[:(]

Son will loan me some but not going to ask him for £500 which is the extra I will need after clearing out every bit of contingency, car tax everything and leaving myself penniless for the interim until I can build it up again.

Sorry for moaning just feeling a little sorry for myself!

Hi.I'm not fed up with your boiler.Infact I'm very intersted because you wil listen to me when something goes wrong and I want to moan. Why don't you get a second man to look at it and give an estimate not a guestimate? Worth a try? My new combi was only £1,700 a couple of years ago.The gas people wanted to charge £6,000 for exactly the same thing.Surely if you can pay by instalments it would be sensible-just have to advise IP.Of course I'm no expert and sure I would be panicking, posting on here too. How on earth have you managed this long without one?It went before xmas . I definately couldn't live 'up North' as I do and not have heating. And, the recent storms have nearly made me hibernate. Cat x

Hi Cat, this is our third try at getting someone to fix it, we've had all sorts of prices, at least now we've got someone that is almost to the bottom of the problem, he's a great guy and to offer me to pay by instalments when I don't even know him is very trusting of him. We've managed without hot water since before Christmas, we've got an electric shower and a dishwasher so it's not been that bad, mind you now the heatings gone we're struggling with cold, all sit in one room with an electric heater on! Getting out the shower first thing is the worse, it's like stepping into a fridge! I tend to stay at work for longer now too as if we're out all day at least it saves money on putting the electric heater on!

These things are certainly sent to test us aren't they?

Your IP says you should miss your next IVA payment due on 20 March to put towards the cost of your boiler. We will then see if this can be recouped over the next few months, or if it needs to be tagged onto the end of the IVA.

Having hot water is absolutely essential, and if you feel that this is not sufficient call me directly at the office so that we can discuss this further.

Melanie has made me cry again! I was so worried Melanie and feel so relieved now, to be fair I can pay on March 28th, as he won't want paying until next month, so it will be the April payment that can be missed, I promise I will make this up before the year end as I like to be straight. Melanie you don't know what this means to me and now I'll stop writing my blog at 2am due to my insomnia....maybe! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

It is such a simple thing for me to do, but means a whole lot to your life. Sorry I didn't pick up on your plight earlier, and do call me if anything else like this happens throughout the IVA. None of us have crystal balls that can predict every eventuality, and IVAs and their Supervisor's have to be sensibly flexible to deal with mishaps along the way.

I know how this has been affecting isthereanend and having spoken to her tonight I know how extremely and utterly grateful she is to you Melanie. She did have a few choice words to say about her boiler (none of which can be repeated here !!) and being able to miss a payment in the short term has certainly cheered her up. She knows that if I had any spare then I would have given it to her as this boiler has been nothing but trouble for isthereanend since before Christmas!!

Oh Melanie, You are a true star. Why can't all IP's be like you. I wish I'd have found this forum before i entered into my IVA, as I would have gone with your company for sure x

Ah thanks Buttercup, I'm hoping they're coming out again tomorrow. They are just so busy! Not much help to me I know but good job I'm learning the art of patience! If they don't come tomorrow they'll definitely come Monday (she says!)

You have coped so well without heating and hot water for a long time, you must be very patient, as I would have completely exploded by now.
