I have already moved my account in preparation for me "taking the plunge" but my husband has now realised that its better if you sort things out jointly so he needs to move his. We would prefer to make my new account at Lloyds TSB into a joint account and are just about to go and do that but I think there may be a problem. He is already in an informal debt management plan with his creditors as we separated at one stage and he couldn't meet his commitments. When we tried to remortgage recently with our existing lender the credit check didn't show anything up but we explained about the low payments he makes and why and they were fine. We didn't take up the remortgage but thats by the by. I am worried that we might be embarrassed when we go to sort an account for him at my new bank in that something may show up on any credit check.

Hi,
We moved over to Lloyds TSB before our IVA was approved, into a joint Account.
We did it on the phone and although they did some sort of check, they came back with an Account that has no overdraft and a debit card (no cheque book), so no problems.
We were both in DMP plans as well at the time.
