Morning,
Just abit of advice required really. Having complete my IVA July this year yeeaayyy :o)
I'm now interested in a mortgage, well a property has come to light that would be perfect for me as i've just found out i'm pregnant and my partner is in the forces. Its close to family and potentially a perfect home. My partner is away for 6 month at the moment and obviously im in the mindset of not being able to get a mortgage till 6 years from the Iva being accepted. Am I right in thinking this or isw it possible to get a mortgage??
Any advice welcome please...thanks in advance
IVA accepted 26.07.10
New Start for me :o)

Hi,

Contact either Ryan or Shaun whose details are found under the experts link on the left hand side of the page.

Congratulations on the new recruit but I think you could be renting for a while yet. It is normally six years from the date the IVA commenced before your credit file clears up but speak to Shaun from Select or Ryan and perhaps they would have a better idea.

I don't think its impossible but I think you will need a large deposit. Speak to Shaun or Ryan for their expert advice in this area.

Congratulations on both fronts! In terms of a mortgage, you generally need to think in terms of a minimum of 6 years since the IVA started (unless you have a pretty sizeable deposit). Was the IVA in joint names with your partner?
