Morning
My father sadly passed away this week, and i will inherate enough money to more than pay off our IVA. Not sure about all the figures yet, and the exact amount of what we owe, but we are 3 years (ish) into it. Do we pay all of the amount owed, or make an offer to them.
Regards

Keith, I am so sorry to hear of you loss. Thinking of you at this difficult time.

As and when you know what sort of figures you are talking about, but you can make an offer to your IP.

You usually need to be offering as near to the original dividend proposed as possible.

Please accept my deepest sympathy at your sad loss Keith. I have been there and know how you must be feeling.

Sadly I was working on a similar calculation for one of my clients yesterday. In this case, the full amount was payable plus statutory interest, so you will need to check with your IP or have a read through the terms and conditions of your own proposal to be sure.

With an unaticipated receipt such as a windfall, it is unlikely that creditors would accept a lower figure.

This inheritance will fall under the windfall bracket and you will probably be expected to pay back 100p/£ plus fees(depending on the size of the inheritance).

So sorry to hear about your Father Keith. Had he been unwell or was it a sudden death?

I suppose it depends on how much it is.
