IT - who on earth are these people - if indeed they are people. Our Parish Priest got hold of someone by the scruff of his neck because the person called a Downs Syndrome child an animal. Our PP is an ex Chaplain to the Paras - the individual got away very lightly indeed. J

That is just appalling! A child is not an IT - he/she is a person and should be treated as such.

The people who come out with this sort of thing should be made to apologise at the very least, or preferably have their employment terminated!

The particular clients entered a DMP as the creditor had a large vote. As soon as the adoption was made permanent they petitioned for bankruptcy. I seem to remember that the client told his boss what had happened and his boss pretended to put him part time so he could help look after the child. His boss then paid him 'cash in hand' for the other hours and the client never got an IPO. The creditors got nothing!

It's not very often I say I'm pleased the creditors got nothing back, but on this occasion I am.

What a very understanding boss as well.

I would never normally agree with anyone avoiding an IPA, but in this case it sounds as though justice was done!

All I can say is what goes around comes around, and hopefully these awful people will find themselves in trouble one day and get the same amount of sympathy they have given others.

Personally I think if a person doesn't like animals they must be very hard.

I have to agree with you all regarding our pets, i would sooner chuck the iva in and take the consequences rather than let my dogs suffer. Some of these hard nosed people need to get their heads out off their arses and take a step into the real world.

For many people for whatever the reasons pets are more than just pets. As for anyone suggesting they are got rid of,well as others have said,I would rather give my house up than my pets!!!

Hello J, they were the only words i could use that were fit for this forum. I do get infuriated with the lack off compassion and regard shown by some to our pets and indeed the wildlife off this world!

what a crazy world we live in, i have a four legged little man whom i absolutely adore and who has seen me through some very dark times, no he can't converse with except in a language only he understands and i can only guess at but he has been there for me so a plate of whiskers is the least i can offer him, IVA or no!
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.

We have rabbits, a macaw (who was excellent in dealing with creditor calls) a completely scatty boxer dog puppy who was given to my husband to cheer him after having lost our dog when going through the IVA process and an adopted cat. We would live in a tent than be without the animals. J

I went home at lunchtime and Harry was rubbing round my legs and looking adorable, and I thought that whatever he costs me he gives it back tenfold by just being there for me.

He didn't have a good start in life so the least I can do is pamper him!

Likewise with our two dogs, they did'nt get the best start either. We got our golden lab from a rescue centre when he was a year old-he had been back and forth three times to that centre because the people that supposedly wanted him, could not handle him. Admittedly he was a handful, but after six months he became a totally different dog (he is now nine). It takes time and patience-nothing else. We also took a staffordshire bull terrier pup in two years ago because the owners were going to put him down because they could not be bothered to advertise him for sale or even try to re-home him. I have to say as well, i have never had a dog that is more placid or as dozy as the staffy-he makes the lab look intelligent!!!
