Hi All
I wonder if you can help me, I need to ring my IP about a missed payment for this months IVA. To give you an idea of the situation, My IP Accuma agreed for me to not pay the full £308 this month and instead pay £100 to them and the rest next month which wasent a problem. As I am due to receive a large overtime patyment next month. I agreed to pay the £100 as Accuma said it was better to try and pay something rather than nothing. However I agreed to pay the £100 on the basis that I would be getting a £100 cheque from someone who owed me money from a long time ago and this cheque has bounced leaving me in the postion where I now havent paid Accuma the £100. I will be calling them later to explain the situation and can make 2 payments of £308 next month. What do you think they will make of this? I am really nervous and upset at something which isnt really my fault but how will Accuma look at this? They have been really great and understanding so far but I dont want it to seem like I am messing them around. As I say I can make up the arrears next month. Do you think this will be OK? Just looking for support and advice and know you guys always offer the best advice.
Regards
Adam

There will almost always be preparations built into an IVA for missed payments due to unforeseen circumstances so if you can make this money back next month this should not be a problem. This missed payment may show on your account but as long as you do not continue to miss payments this won't be a problem. Call your IP as soon as possible so that you can explain to them that the £100 will not be paid this month. Communication with your IP is key.

Thanks Oliver
As I said Accuma have been really good to me and I dont want to upset them. I will ring them as soon as possible and explain the situation. I just wanted some advice on the situation. I think the saving grace is that I can make up the missed payment next month. I guess its a lesson learnt for me not to count my chickens before they have hatched with regards to using money that isnt guranteed.

Absolutely Adam, but these things do happen and you shouldn't be too hard on yourself. Talk with Accuma and arrange to make the money up next month.

Hi adam_c

I also think that a good communication with you IP is key for a successful IVA. Call your IP and explain the situation. Unfortunately situations like this can happen and you shouldnt be blaming yourself for something wish isn't really your fault.

Michelle P.

Hi All
Just to update you on the missing payment. I phoned my IP Accuma and once again they have come up trumps.
As you can see from the 1st post I was unable to make the payment this month of one hundred pounds. So to help me to make up the arrears Accuma have said that I can do the following. Do not pay anything this month then next month instead of paying two lots of £308 I am to pay £411 over 3 moths which is more than managable. I guess it just goes to show that you guys are right, Speak to your IP they are there to help both sides and the main thing is to try and make sure the IVA works out for you and the creditors. Thanks again to Accuma and you guys for your support and advice.
Regards
Adam

Hi
Well done to Accuma
This is just the quick, simple and common sense approach that people in an IVA want.
Why isn,t it always like this ?

Adam, Good on you for calling Accuma Im glad everything is sorted out.

I think that alot of the time people dont keep their I.P informed either due to fear of what may happen etc and therefore a problem that could be easily fixed gets left which then creates a bigger problem in the long run.

Dear All
Just to agree with what has been said above. If you are having a problem with your IVA always call the IP company and try to get the problem resolved as soon as possible dont with hold information from the IP be upfront and let them know dont bottle it up and keep it to yourself. The IP dosent want your IVA to fail. I have to agree with Andy about why problems cant be sorted out in a simple fashion? All it took was one phone call. Thanks again to Accuma.
Regards
Adam

Communication with your IP is key and I think this is a great example of this.
