Some especially BARCLAYCARD!! have been flipping annoying now they have passed my case to some joker firm called MERCERS!! i have never spoke to such ignorant people. they constantly are an irritation phoning me up about 20 times in a day that is a serious compulsive disorder their employees i think were hired from monkey world. i have had several blazing rows with them they have said they would send someone to my house now.I await.. relishing the argument that is coming has anyone actually had a visit from this company im thinking to have a load of bannanas ready so it will keep their monkey quiet BRING IT ON MERCERS!!!

Mercers are actually part of Barclaycard, and they are very persistent callers.
It is unlikely that they will send anyone round to your house, even though they threaten to.
I wouldn't get involved in any arguments with them. I'd just inform them what you are intending to do and then put the phone down.

hey andy-glad youre on the path to getting sorted-if its any consolation mercers did the same to me-bent dear kallis's ear bout it for ages-thanx kal x i found the broken record approach worked eventually-repeating everything again really slowly
you could also pretend youre russian when they call-failing that dust off any des o connor records and play repeatedly down the phone when they call-an excellent creditor repellant-apologies des fans-all two of you x
It is annoying when these companies continually call and I remember FD being hounded by Mercers. Unfortunatley, when you're in their system they keep calling.
Try not to get dragged down by it....use some of the tactics suggested ( poor Des O Connor [:D]). You can also answer the call and just rest the receiver on a table and leave them hanging on.
In time the calls will stop and take consolation of the money they're wasting by calling you.
problem is if you are enterning into an iva which is a govt initiative so to speak then surely the amount of baggering that mercers do must be illegal it borders on insanity it should be illegal that sort of harrasment. if you followed someone constantly you would be done for stalking surely the same appllies here.
aw thanx julie x
problem is andy a lot of the call centre staff get commission so it is their ultimate goal to get a payment from you.
it is harrasment and there is a law against creditor harrasment but these guys take a chance because they take the view that eventually the person in debt will weaken and pay up.
i was only joking bout poor des
best thing to do is take the gals advice.
how bout changing your number ?
tell your friends n family you were getting too many double glazing calls
use this place to rant away-its what its here for
god knows ive done it often enough
STAY STRONG
you will emerge victorious [:)]
well i do appreciiate all your advice im just the kind of person who has a ferroucious temper and i do need to calm down a bit im your typical eastlondon mouth box lol but i will take it onboard and i hope to chat to you all more often as i am new on here hopefully my creditors meeting will go well on the 17th and i can get on with something far more dangerous like rearranging my sock draw
I have just had my IVA accepted and went through a bit of grief with Mercers. When I got the chance to actually tell them that I had applied for an IVA and was awaiting my date for my creditors meeting they only made a call about once a week. If you can actually get to speak to a Supervisor rather than one of the call centre monkeys, you should be ok.
I had more grief from the Nationwide collectors called KPG (I think). I am quite easy going though and dont let them get to me too much!!!
