This company sounds a lot like Aktiv Kapital who insist on ringing me every day. I tell 'em to read the notes on the screen and not to bother me again. doesn't work tho. I'll be a tad embarrassed if my IVA fails and I have to go back to them cap in hand lol.

If your IVA fails, which hopefully it won't, you should be able to do debt management with your firm and then try again for an IVA. You could always try to bat them off by refusing to confirm your details when they phone. If they can't confirm who they are talking to they can't continue with the call. You could also screen the calls and not answer. I have never yet spoken to Mercers, done everything by snail mail

Any debt collection company, in house for the original lender or external are bound by codes of conduct and legal licence requirements.

START COMPLAINING !!!!!!!!!

It is not legal or realistic for a collection company to ring you daily or multiple times daily. They can not send a 'doorstep collector' without first sending you a written missive explaining the purpose of the visist, time date etc. They have no legal rights of entry and if you have sent them an offer of payment and a financial statement which clearly shows your ability to pay, they have no grounds to visit other than to harass you. COMPLAIN !!

You can complain in the first instance to the company direct and then to the trade bidy like the Credit Services Association or FOS. I dont know whether you are aware but the OFT issued warnings to 13 collection companies recently because of the actions taken that consumers complained about..

Rant rant rant... I hate bullies and detest these upstarts who are very brave on the phone.. A quick deterrent is to simply not identify your self (DPA). no conversation then.

While you are waiting for your IVA to be voted on, just make a token offer payment as a gesture of goodwill !! If they dont like it - Too bad - but complain, complain, complain.. It makes no odds if your IVA is set up the complaint should still be heard.

sorry if i went on a bit !! I really fel quite strongly about harassment !!
