Hello all

For those of you that are in the process of setting up your IVA's I can't stress enough how important it is to meet your IP face to face if its at all possible. I had to, as I em self employed, but to be honest I would have wanted to anyway.

I met Melanie yesterday and it was the most worthwhile couple of hours - she put my mind at rest, answered all my (sometimes) daft questions.
Personally I can't imagine taking this route, and not meeting the person who essentially is helping me through a particularly scary part of my life.

So, if you can, meet your IP, get to know them (as much as you can in a couple of hours!) and stay on this forum.

I don't think I'd be here still if I hadn't found the forum - its not just about answering questions, you only have to read through the posts to see the support everyone gives.

Finally - Melanie and your team, a massive thank you for everything you have done so far - we still have the final hurdle to jump over, but I have my fingers and toes crossed!

Hi,

Unfortunately most people will never get to meet there IP as they are with Large Factory Providers like myself and I have only ever dealt with the Call Centre Staff throughout.

In hindsight I would of gone with Melanie's firm so you are in safe hands [8D]

Its a real shame that some companies adopt this approach really - its a major moment in a person's life and from a personal point of view, I couldn't have done it without meeting my IP.

Luckily for me, I chose Melanie - even if I had been employed as opposed to self employed, I would have wanted to meet her - and she was great.

Melanie has her reputation for one reason only - she has the personal touch and her (and her staff) really put 100% into each case. I can't ever say I have felt neglected (and I ask lots of silly questions)

Perhaps if more companies met their clients, they would have a better view of their circumstances and therefore would be able to present a better/more personal picture of each client?

Emails and telephone calls are fine, but are not as perosnal s meeting face to face.

Just my opinion!

There are huge benefits for us as well, as we get to really spend time finding out more about our clients - importantly that they are really committed to the suggested repayment plan.

Time invested at this stage to do things properly, will pay rewards in the end - not only for you, but to your creditors and the IP in terms of secured fee income.

And do all remember - no questions are ever silly!!
