I tried to do one in Leeds once, but was turned down after they read through my medical file, Think it's something to do with me being allergic to a lot of stuff.
Money would have been nice though, and it might have cured my hay fever [;)]
IVA completed April 2013

animaleyes -

You will often find trials advertised in the free London papers - Metro / London Lite / the London Paper. I did several a few years back and am still alive and kicking!! And the money was very good.

I often get contacted asking if I want to do more and may consider it if it looks like I may have difficulty reaching my IVA "Minimum Dividend" in the future.

Cheers Optimist,

I usually get a bit of a read of metro every morning. Clearly i am half asleep when reading it lol. I shall definitely have to look into it a bit more. Thought about it a few years ago but never followed it up..

THanks again :o)

Just had a little look, thanks for that. I'm a bit of a wimp though and would much rather have my sleep monitored or something....you know like in A Nightmare on Elmstreet! HaHa! Something real easy...that pays lots of money! [:D][:D][:D] Viki X

Hi Viki,

I'm not 100% sure about the non medical ones but i have read things that say 'non invasive' so i imagine that probably means not taking drugs, might be just research into medical history or something - will post again when i find out!

I decided to delete this post as I dont want to put people off applying to do these trials based on my experience (see Vikis post below)!!!!!

I know from speaking with the doctors / nurses whilst on the trials that they are really important in helping to develop drugs and they rely on people coming forward to do them.

It is important - though - that anyone thinking of applying makes absolutely sure that they know what will happen on the trial in question!!!!

Just reading the first paragraph of your post has made me queezy optimist! Good money though. Thanks for the info but I don't think it's for me now. I think I'd chicken out at the last moment![:I]

Hi viki -

I saw the "sleep-monitoring" one advertised a few years back. I went for the initial "Screening" but was not eligible as I work shifts and have a disturbed "sleep-pattern" - and my blood pressure was too high!!!!

Ooh they do that though eh? Mm I can sleep at any time and anywhere so if someone can pay me for that, well that would be ideal! I'll check into that one, bet they don't pay £3000!

Sorry you decided to delete your post Optimist, I'm sure I'm just being a great big wimp. It was very informative and descriptive so maybe you should post your experience again for people to make their own minds up. Viki X
