My IVA was approved on the 11th of January this year, but I got another call from MBNA last night - I let it go to answerphone again. A very pushy gentleman threatening me with "more direct action" if I don't respond by the 25th of the month!

I have forwarded the message to my IP!

I understand completely that they have a job to do, but they are completely aware I was applying for an IVA, if they are not aware I actually have one now, as I got an e-mail from them saying "Regarding your proposed IVA" within the message!!

hi
it can be so frustrating getting calls after having an iva approved as you think its all over, but it does take a little time to settle down.
MBNA did not bother me at all during the proposal stage or after acceptance of y iva, but I did not owe them a great deal of money in relation to my total debt. I found Morgan Stanley/Goldfis were awful and kept calling twice a day after it was accepted until my name appeared on the insolvency register and they could see it. I kept saying to them I maybe in debt but I am not a liar.
I would let your IP know and then ignore it as it will go away, hopefully for you soon.
I hope you are getting used to the idea you are in an iva, mine was approved in November and I still worry about spending any money and am still getting my head around the whole thing
Good luck

Be positive & look after yourself, there are more important things in life than debts....

Best Wishes

Hi Cr15py,

After your IVA is approved thats it they all get notified but sadly internal company communications are very slow when it is in our interests - strange that [}:)]

If you want to talk to them then do so, I started the conversation as My IVA has been approved if they got abit funny I just said again my IVA has been approved and I am ending this conversation please do not call again.

I only gave all my creditors my mobile number so I recognised the numbers when it rang and I never answer calls with no number showing. I also sent a voicemail message to them saying to contact me in writing as calls will not be answered and when IVA was approved it said the same just IVA approved as well. Still loads of calls for up to 2 weeks after IVA approval.

But they do stop and at the end of the day once that IVA is approved thats all that matters so tough.

Just started my IVA as from 12.10.07

What ever deceision and choices we have ever made, are the ONLY and BEST decisions and choices we can make at THAT time with all the info we have to hand at THAT PRECISE moment in time - so no regrets!!

Thanks Emma and helper

Yeah I'm kind of getting used to it. Finding this month a struggle, but I know I have paid for everything, and that I won't be paying for this Christmas until next Christmas, and beyond!

In a way I've been living in a sort of IVA since this time last year, as it's a year since I had paid my main two creditors. If only I had gone for an IVA then, I would be nearly a year in to it - but by the same token I wouldn't know nearly as much as I do now without this forum!

MBNA e-mailed me a couple of weeks ago, so I have replied by e-mail, and my IP is doing the same, so hopefully they might get the message!

I am still getting letters off MBNA... had one yesterday in fact so I just phoned them up and told them I have an IVA and they are to stop contacting me. They then looked my name up online to make sure I have an IVA and the lady said sorry please ignore all letters ect and we wont be contacting you agian.

So my advise would be just to speak to them and give them your IVA number and tell them to leave you alone... job done.
